Hi! I’m Allison Chavanelle a watercolor artist based out of Maine.
I stumbled into watercolors by accident when trying to get another venture off the ground, but then quickly figured out that painting was something I had to do – everyday. I’m going to credit genetics because both my grandmothers were artists. I kicked off my obsession by using my maternal grandmother’s watercolors on a notepad half filled with her paintings. I have spent many years trying to figure out my perfect creative outlet and was relieved when I discovered watercolor!
I am a mother of a 6 year old boy – Emerson (Emmy), a 3 year old boy – Oliver (Olly) and a 7 year old husky mix, Kevin. There is a lot of male energy in my house, but I’m obsessed with all of them, unless they are going through a sleep regression…. My husband, thankfully, is able to match their energy. He is the kindest person I know and spends his days brewing beer for a living.
I am a former baker and ongoing sugar addict. I believe that traveling gives you the best education. Sarcasm is my language of choice and I’m an open book to a fault which can be a good and bad thing. I’m in love with living in Maine, until around March and then it always wins me back over in June.
